EC Energy Sector Budget Programme

Until the end of 2006 EU provided its assistance to Ukraine through TACIS Programme launched in 1991. For the period of 2007–2013 instruments of financial aid have been replaced by the European Neighbourhood Policy Instrument (ENPI). The ENPI introduced in 2007 provides general/sector budget support (and other aid instruments) in addition to technical assistance to ENP countries, whereas the TACIS programme only allowed for technical assistance.

Welcome to the Start of Improving Language and Professional Skills!

Welcome to the Start of Improving Language and Professional Skills! The first session of the “Business and Energy English/Professional Skills” Training Programme took place on 4 October 2010.

Participants from different ministries and agencies got acquainted with each other and created a friendly atmosphere for the joint work. It was a surprise how quickly they managed to switch to speaking English. They started asking each other professional work related questions already in English!

The first training session already proved that “Business and Energy English/Professional Skills” Training Programme is a good tool to widen the contacts not only of the Project with experts of the ministries/agencies that are part of the Energy Sector Budget Support Programme, but also between professionals of different ministries and agencies and therefore to contribute to building a network of professionals. This, in turn, can greatly promote joint work, which is crucial for sector budget support programmes’ successful implementation.
